I'm sending this email a day early in light of the freeze coming tonight.

1. Insulate your pipes: Wrap your pipes with insulation or heat tape to help keep them from freezing.

2. Keep your thermostat set to at least 55°F: Even if you are not home, it is important to keep your thermostat set to at least 55°F to prevent your pipes from freezing.

3. Open cabinets: Open cabinets under your sinks and in other areas where pipes are located to allow warm air to circulate around your pipes.

4. Let your faucets drip: Allowing a slow drip of water to flow through your pipes can help prevent them from freezing.

5. Disconnect hoses: Disconnect any garden hoses and store them indoors to preventthem from freezing and bursting.

6. Know where your main water shut-off valve is located: In case of a burst pipe, it is important to know where your main water shut-off valve is located so you can turn the water off quickly.
